This alignment-based practice will renew, refresh, and restart your body and mind at the end of your busy week. Class includes centering your mind and warming up your body, a mix of vinyasa and sustained postures, pranayama, and deep relaxation. Just what is needed to approach a new week with clarity and vitality! Continuing level, for students with 1+ year experience.

In our time together you will deepen your understanding of asana practice and how you can benefit from it on many levels. We will practice a sequence leading up to a peak pose, including pranayama, vinyasa and sustained asana, then rest in deep relaxation. After a short break, we’ll explore physical and energetic alignments, props, and modifications for the peak pose to build teaching skills. Suitable for teachers, aspiring teachers, and students interested in delving into alignment-based asana practice. Yoga Alliance CEUs are available for RYTs.

In our time together you will learn gentle, safe movements to stretch tight hip and lower back muscles and strengthen weak ones, techniques for coping with pain flare-ups, and ways to create natural tone and balance. Liz Owen’s expertise of lower back health and yoga philosophy brings both Eastern and Western wisdom to bear on creating a healthy lower back and will bring mindfulness and depth to your journey of maintaining lower back health. Open to everyone, including beginners and anyone who lives with lower back pain.
