JOURNEY TO ADVANCED ASANAS:
Hip Openers, Seated Twists, and Forward Bends

Sunday, November 18, 2013,  12:00-7:00pm
Samadhi Integral Life Practice Center
796 Beacon Street, Newton MA

Join in a day of discovering, exploring, and moving deeply into a practice of intermediate and advanced asanas. You will explore alignment principles of basic and intermediate poses, and how they inform more advanced hip openers, seated twists, and forward bends.

The workshop is presented in two three-hour practices:

Part I: 12:00 - 3:00pm:
Practice includes principles of physical and energetic alignments in standing and seated poses that create stability and ease of movement within the legs, hips, and spine. Pelvic floor movements, bandhas, movements of the hips and spine, and directing breath through the body are all explored as ways to open the body into its full expression of prana.

Part II: 4:00 - 7:00pm:
Practice deepens into intermediate and advanced hip opening poses, seated twists and forward bends. You’ll work your way towards Lotus Pose and its variations, standing and seated splits, deep seated twists and forward bends.

You will experience the harmony, integration and wholeness in your body and mind that practicing with fully-primed and opened hips and spine creates. You don’t need to be able to put your foot behind your head to come to this workshop – there will be something for everyone! Teachers and practitioners with two years yoga experience are all welcome. Attend either session, or come to both for the complete experience.
