YUCATAN PENINSULA RETREATS – MARCH 14-21 AND MARCH 21-28, 2020
The venue for our yoga retreats on Isla Holbox is Villas Flamingos, a beachfront boutique hotel whose “hammocks in the sea” make it a unique destination on the island. Our twice daily yoga classes will be held in a thatched-roof palapa. In our third floor aerie, we practice with magnificent views of the ocean laid out before us. Between classes there will be time to cool down in the seafront pool, walk along the beach to town, take a siesta in a hammock, go for a kayak tour, bike around the island, or simply surrender to the slow rhythm of island life by doing “nothing”. SOUTHWESTERN YOGA RETREAT IN TUSCON, ARIZONA – OCTOBER 19-25, 2019
Join us to renew and retreat in Tucson. Our venue is the Hacienda Del Sol Guest Ranch Resort, included in the National Registry of Historic Places in Arizona and Historic Hotels of America. Nestled at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains, Hacienda Del Sol is a relaxing refuge with breathtaking views. Morning and late afternoon yoga sessions will take place outdoors, in the inner courtyard of the resort. The paintbox colors of the sky, mountains and desert will inspire and energize us as we practice in the clear, dry air of the high desert. This is an all levels retreat, appropriate for anyone with 1+ year of yoga experience. Click here for more details.
BLOCK ISLAND RETREAT
Enjoy the beautiful New England landscape and the quiet beauty of Block Island, Rhode Island with a three day, two night yoga retreat. The retreat will include two nights at The 1661 Inn, two morning and two afternoon yoga sessions, two buffet breakfasts, one dinner at a local island restaurant, and two “wine & nibbles” hours.
YOGA FOR DEPRESSION & ANXIETY STUDY
Our latest study on Yoga for Depression and Anxiety has been published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, March, 2017, with impressive results. In a group of beginning yoga practitioners diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder, practicing 90 minutes of yoga twice a week, along with some home practice, significantly decreased symptoms of depression and anxiety as measured by MRI technology and Beck’s Depression Inventory scale.
